~~Sunday Flea Finds~~

Good afternoon friends. Take a little break with me and have a cuppa. I'm having tea but the coffee is made too. Sunday was the WX Peddlers Faire and I did find a few treasures to add to my collections...... I love nesting chickens and look at this milk glass one I found. I'm calling her Mama....she is the largest in my collection. For now she is roosting here but I'll be putting her with the others in a few days. The flower pot holder is a flea find too. Can you see the little pink birdie peeking out of the ivy? It's a cake candle holder....too tweet. Love ivy. I always say...."when in doubt put a little piece of ivy there."
Here is the tablecloth ( ivy and little red flowerpots) and apron I was telling you about. Someone made this darling cloth with the fancy edging. At first I thought it was crochet, but now I'm not so sure. What do you think? I cross stitch and when I saw this apron, with all the cross stitching, on the $1.00 table I couldn't pass it up.
Here is a cute little girl for Christmas and I found this......
little chick for Easter. Well, it back to work for me. Enjoyed our chat. Remember, when in doubt ....try a piece of ivy. Warm hugs, Linda

Great finds:>) I found a red gingham apron very similar to yours, with the cross stitch trim fro 25 cents at a yard sale last year, I dont think it had ever been used. Aren't they pretty? I love ivy too.

I think the edging on the table cloth is tatting...... I used to tate a long time ago but did not get into it...... too much detail and too hard......... Your wonderful collection is tooooooooooo cute........ I love to go to flea markets........ maybe latter in the summer........

blessings and have a wonderful Thursday....

HI Linda,

I love to see what others find at the flea! I'll bet that was fun.

And yes, our evening turned out great despite missing out on the movie! The ice cream flavor I chose was Vanilla Fudge Swirl. :-)

Hello dear Linda:-)

Well I see someone else has been lucky in finding more treasures! hehe I always have so much fun seeing what others find in thrift shops/auction sales. Thank you so much for letting me know that the little creamer and sugar set I bought last night is called Moonstone...I had no idea! I checked it out on the net and found the exact set. Seems it's from 1940/41!! I'm so thrilled to know what it's called, thank you again!! xoxo

What nice finds you have here. I have made up my mind to NOT buy anymore items to sit around. I have so much, there is just no place else to put anything. I am too attached to what I have to part with it all.

Love the milk glass hen! The Mom of one of my friends collects them and has every size and color you can imagine! 100's of them! My friend hates them, I hope her Mom remembers me if she gets tired of them! I'd like to have a flock! Love the tablecloth, too, and I agree that it is tatting.

Hello!
Thanks for coming by my blog!I sure am enjoying yours. The little red gingham apron the pattern is called chicken scratch, if that helps you. They are very pretty,My grandma use to do that and some she make had more intricate patterns.I even made a tablecloth once that my daughter scooped up.

It looks like you found some wonderful treasures. I love flea markets but I haven't been to one in a very long time! Dianntha ps...no fish in the pond yet but soon.

Hi Linda

Great finds! The tablecloth edge looks like tatting or perhaps lace that was sold on a reel, sort of like ribbon and lace these days. I'm leaning toward the idea it's store bought lace, rather than hand made tatting. Whatever it is, the table cloth is beautiful!

Have a wonderful weekend.

What pretty things! Do you think that edging is tatting? My dear grandma tatted, and my mother taught herself to do it when I was in high school. I still remember how difficult it looked. Hang on to that treasure -- someone's labor of love.

You have a very nice blog. Come and visit anytime!

I love this apron. Lucky find for you...My girlfriend made me one recently. The embroidered design is called "chicken Scratch". Google it to read about it.... very interesting. Funny how retro aprons are back in vogue now...Everything old is new again.... too bad it didn't work for people!! VBG
