~ Morning At The Market~

I'm in heaven. This morning I went to our farmers market and bought the most wonderful produce. Look at the gorgeous tomatoes. We haven't had a tomato for weeks because of the salmonella scare. My mouth is watering just looking at theses beauties. Love summer squash and I think stuffed bells are in our future.
Yummy zucchini and a different variety of summer squash.
Nectarines, Royal Ann and Bing cherries.....plus I got two new pair of earrings......
Love my earrings.....yes, these are earrings. When I was little and you found double cherries we would drape them over our ears and walla...earrings. Did any one else do that??
Remember the beautiful tomatoes? Well, I made the best sandwich, maybe not the healthiest but the best ever. Two slices fresh white bread, Best Foods Mayo on both slices, sliced tomatoes, a touch of salt(Carl like lots of pepper too), a few rings of red onion and then top with the other slice of bread. Mmmmmm, this is delish. I hope you try my sandwich...enjoy, hugs, Linda

You have just made my mouth water for fresh produce. My garden is not producing much yet and I can hardly wait.

Yep, I remember draping double cherries over my ears for earrings.

God bless.

Yes, I love tomato sandwiches. I also love peanut butter and tomato on toast. Call us strange, but in the summer we have tomato sandwich suppers at our church. We also make other recipes like tomato pie, tomato pasta and tomato bacon. There nothin' like fresh produce especially during the summer. Those cherries look delicious. Hugs, RoseMarie

That sandwich looks really good. I will be trying that. I never put onions on a tomato sandwich but I love both and the white bread. Yummy.
Everything you bought looks oh so good.

I did the same thing this week and had a BLT today. Honey Bear was just reading me the states where the Salmonella hasn't been found in tomatoes. California and Tennessee are both listed but its best to be safe and ask where the vendors got their tomatoes.

Your produce makes me anxious for our roadside stands to start opening. Our cherry trees did produce some delicious cherries - the birds loved them.

Hi, Linda,

My husband loves tomato sandwiches. He makes it a meal. Just thought of this -- I remember my mother telling me that when she was young they took onion sandwiches to school for lunch. Yuck.
