Good morning everyone. It's Monday and washing day. Call me old fashion but I like to line dry my sheets, towels and kitchen items.......mmmm, they smell so fresh and clean when you take them down.....love it. Today is sunny and there is a light breeze, perfect to line dry the laundry. Is Monday your washing day? It's mine and I also do a few loads during the week. Anyone else line dry things or am I the only one? I just hung some towels and my next load will be up in a few minutes. Can you guess what color my main bath is....pink and blue....I know, nursery colors. It's straight out of the 50s. Every once in awhile I get the urge to redo it....but I love the tile work so we've never made any really big changes.
I found some little treasures yesterday at the WX Faire.....two of my purchases are washing right now....a cute little apron and the sweetest little tablecloth with a crochet edge. I'll be sharing them later this week. Well, I think the wash has finished, time to get back to work.
Hope the sun shines on your day....hugs, Linda

The snobs in our neighborhood wrote the covenants so that clothes lines are taboo. I hate that! I love to hang clothes out to dry. I just love the smell of a bed with air-dried sheets. And the clothes get so nice and white.
Can I move in with you??
Hi Linda
Is that sweet little face yours on your profile so cute(:)
I know the old ringlets and fingerwaves were so cool.. I love them still...
I also had a wiglet I wore that had ringlets(:) Actually I wore it for my wedding will have to get that pic out and post-it..LOL
I think all the dos comeback ..modified some maybe.... but the bob is a classic that has never really gone ''all the way out''
..Glad I got to visit with you today.. hugs Patty ..Oh I see Lynne said the snobs in her neighborhood said no clothes lines-- that is just insane~!!(:) almost as bad as not letting a nursing mother feed her baby.. LORDY LORDY I get so ''Crazy'' when I hear that stuff.. hehe
What a great way to do laundry..but sadly, I don't have a clothes line. Maybe some day..
Have a happy washing day,
Michelle
I'm calling you old fashioned, but that is a good thing.
We aren't allowed to have clothes lines in our neighborhood.
I'm glad you liked the Halloween feature on Jen's site.
Have a great week,
Rosemary
We've always hung our clothes out to dry too. Your tablecloth with a crocheted edge sounds lovely.
I have to do laundry every day or it just piles up too much with 4 adults in the house.
I would love to hang some of my laundry out, but the clothesline needs to be re-strung - and if they hang down too low, the dog pulls them off. Bad dog.
What a great idea...
Have a blessed and wonderful day!

Hello dear Linda:-)
I love hanging out my laundry on the clothesline, especially the sheets and towels and as you say, it always smells so fresh!! My big laundry day is usually on Fridays:-) xox
Wish i had your patience in the line drying thing, but I'm a dryer girl by heart. Just throw that stuff in and fold and go! PS I don't know how to iron either> Don't tell anyone especially hubby. I snap his shirts while still damp, and then hang on a hanger. He has no clue>

I bet they do smell good, but as busy as I am I di good to wash lol.
Hi Linda,

I love love love hanging my laundry in the sun and wind to dry!
I can't wait to see your tablecloth and apron!
Hugz, Dolly
The smell of line dried sheets is fabulous! I don't line dry these days, but I have many times, in the past!

Hi Linda! I love the smell of laundry from the clothes line. My laundry is an every day task, and unfortunately not one I really like. :) I should try hanging it out to dry to make it more enjoyable.
Take care,
Martha
Hi Linda, There is not a fabric softner invented that can replace the smell of sheets that have been dried outdoors. I hung all my laundry out yesterday and with the heat we are experiencing it was dry in no time. Some of the new subdivisions in our town do not allow clotheslines but with the effort to go green they are re-thinking that bylaw.
I wash just when I need to but I so remember my mom hanging the clothes outside. I love that smell. I don't do it, but should.

I use to hang clothes to dry. In fact, I was just expressing my desire to have a clothes line at the new place but he thought that all the birds we have might make a disaster of it! HA!
((hugs)) Rosie
Hi Linda,
That's so neat you still line dry your wash. We have an old clothesline out back - but I've put globe lights on it ;)
I remember watching my grandma putting clothes on the line - she had a round metal one and loving to watch her. Thanks for bringing that memory back for me!
Happy day!

I have never line dried my clothes, but have always wanted to! That probably sounds weird, but I just love how it looks when you see sheets hanging out on a line in a country garden! We have always had dogs and boys playing out in the yard, so I never set one up! Maybe I should do it now that my kids are all grown up.
Have a wonderful evening!
Hugs, Sharon
Linda

That is the one thing I love about the spring, summer and fall. Hanging clothes out on the line. The smell is intoxicating.
Linda, I can hardly wait to see your new treasures.
God bless.
Hello Linda,
Your pink and blue towels look so pretty on the line! I wish I had more time to do that kinda thing.I am looking foward in seeing your apron and tablecloth. I just love your banner I know I have told you before but it is just so pretty!
Take care,
ginger
I love line dried washing. It's the best.
Hi Linda!! I love the see laundry drying on a clothesline...sadly it's becoming a rare sight...too many neighborhood covenants don't want to see our undies drying outside...LOL!!Some day I'll live way out in the country so I can hang my laundry..just like the old days..LOL.
Everyday is laundry day for me!
Hugs,
Robin
I do love washing hung on the line, althiugh I must confess I have to use the dryer quite a bit as I tend to need regular items quickly! My grandma used to live in an erea that wouldnt allow clothes lines, but everyone complained so they eventually changed it.I think i need to go smell my 'country linen' yankee candle now! ha,ha
Happy washing
Priscilla x
Gosh, I do laundry every day, especially when both sons are home. BUT, my NEW dryer is not working and I hung out a clothing line night before last and did it the old fashion way. Hey, it does save power, dontchaknow! haha.
