~ Good Morning ~

Morning everyone. I can't believe it's Thursday already and the weekend is just around the corner. I hope everyone had a nice holiday, we did. We had bar-b-ques and went to the houseboat one day and Saturday Lisa and I went to the movies. We saw Angels and Demons.......I really enjoyed it, there is some violence which I don't enjoy but if I think something icky is going to happen I just look away or close my eyes and I must admit I did this more than once during the movie. I love Tom Hanks and I thought he was great. Have you read the book or seen the movie? I've heard the movie really doesn't follow the book...what do you think?
I just finished the fourth book in the Ladies of Covington...it was so good. I'm ready to take a trip to my little used book store and hopefully they will have the fifth book, if not Barnes and Noble here I come. Until then.....
I'm reading Fern Michaels latest in the vigilante series...I've just started it and it's going to be good. That's the latest here...see you soon. hugs, Linda

~ 50th Reunion ~

We had a wonderful time at Carl's reunion.....Saturday evening was the dinner dance and here we are......
just about ready to leave our room at the Double Tree Hotel for dinner. We had a wonderful buffet with a huge selection of delicious foods and raspberry cheese cake for dessert.....everything was so delish. After dinner....
was a group picture of the graduates....I tell you the photographer had his hands full trying to get them assembled....but I think the picture will be great. After pictures, we danced the night away to the music of the Jay Rolerz Band. They played the music of the 50's and it was wonderful......
Sunday morning was the Farewell Brunch...it was a perfect way to end a happy weekend and say our goodbyes...........Linda

~ Carl's 50th High School Class Reunion ~

Hi everyone. This weekend we are celebrating Carl's 50th high school class reunion. Oh my gosh, time has flown. All the the events are at the Double Tree Hotel...it is just a wonderful place. Last night was the get acquainted mixer....
Here we are just leaving for the evening, which was so much fun. Lots and lots of people and lots and lots of catching up too. It was a very happy evening seeing old friends that you had lost contact with through the years and renewing old friendships. Tonight is the dinner dance, there's going to be entertainment and a silent auction too, what a nice evening has been planned. Sunday is the farewell brunch and a remembrance honoring classmates who are no longer with us...just thinking about that make me sad but I'm glad we will be doing that.

Hope you have a nice weekend...hugs, Linda

~ An Anniversary and New Stitchies ~

Hi everyone! Tonight is our stitching get together...I just checked my 2008 calendar and yesterday was the one year anniversary of our group. We need to celebrate. We've had the best time stitching together, here is our fourth completed stitchie. I think it's very dear...it's hard for me to choose a favorite. I just love them all. The little puppy, to me, looks like my Lily so I made her collar pink instead of the blue as charted.
This is the stitchie we are starting tonight. We are all anxious to begin Yule Sampler. Plus we are all going to be stitching........
A Quaker Christmas...it's just a wonderful piece. We have a plan, each month, 3 of the evenings we will work on Yule Sampler, plus have homework and on the 4th stitching evening we will stitch on A Quaker Christmas, plus 3hrs a week stitching homework on it. Sounds complicated but it's really easy peasy and working together it's going to be great......well I best get busy. I've missed visiting these past few days but hope to catch up tomorrow. Until then....hugs, Linda

~ Two Framed Stitchies ~

Hi everyone. Monday afternoon I picked up my two finished pieces and I'm really pleased with the way they turned out. I hung LOVE in the dinning room above a small cabinet that belonged to my dad. I agonised over this frame but I "love" it. If you click on the picture you can see the light green on the frame, I think it looks nice with the vine work. Here is.....
Home Sweet Home. It's right as you enter our home, I

tucked it in the center of our hall tree. It's one of the first things we see when we enter and I always say, there is no place I'd rather be then "Home Sweet Home." Hugs, and happy days to you...Linda

~ The Latest ~

Hi everyone...hope you had a great weekend, we had a wet one. It has been raining on and off here for the past week and more showers are predicted for this week. I did get my stitchie homework finished and I also finished reading...... Tribute. It was a good little mystery/love story and I've just now started reading the latest book in the Blossom Street series and I'm loving it.
Debbie Macomber is such a wonderful author, I've just started Chapter 3 and already hate to put Summer on Blossom Street down...it's that good. Well, put it down I must...I have a lab appointment and then I heading to Michale's....my framing is finished. I can hardly wait to see how it looks.....see you soon, hugs, Linda

~ Happy May Day ~

Happy May Day! Today is May 1st, a time to surprise friends and family with a poesy or two. When you were in school did you make May baskets for your family or a neighbor? We did...our teachers would bring flowers from home and we would fill our baskets, run home, hang them on the front door, ring the doorbell then hide. It was so fun watching that special person when they opened the door.....here are a few May flowers from my yard and out and about. Wisteria intwined with a tree in our backyard...I love it.
This azalea blooms without fail every year.....

Pretty yellow iris...for some reason iris blooms make me think of orchids.

Beautiful snowball bush...I wish it were mine......

My all time favorite rose, Secret. This rose has the most beautiful fragrance...I wish you could smell it and I wish you a wonderful May Day...hugs, Linda
