Hummers

Isn't this the sweetest little girl? Yes, it's a girl, her coloring is very subtle, I don't think you can tell from the picture but her body is a soft taupe and she has blue and green on her back and neck.....she is very pretty. I love to sit outside and just watch these little guys for hours, in fact I have, they make me happy. Sometimes you can hear them before you see them they make the neatest sound it's kinda of a "ch-cht" chirp. They are such acrobats too, flying forward, backward, hovering in place, and upside down! Amazing.
I took this picture while sitting on the swing, I had to bend over backwards and almost tipped myself over, what a picture that would make.

Have a happy day. Linda

Yeah, you are probably better to have had a photo of the bird on your post!!! hee, hee. Humming birds are so amazing. And, if you are lucky enough to see one up fairly close and the sunshine is just right, what a lovely sight! Love, Esther (P.S. Been to the Anne Frank house in Amsterdam. Pretty sobering place, but an honor to vist.)

Hi Linda!
What a sweet little hummer. We only have the females left here. The males have already gone south. In fact we only have one or two females left and they may be travelers...

Thanks for visiting my blog! Come back soon!

Nice to meet you Linda! I am adding you to my list for future visits. I started blogging at the end of July and it is SOOOOOOO much fun and I see that you have some of the same great ladies visiting you that I have. :)

Adorable picture of the hummingbird. Aren't they the best? LOL about almost falling out of your chair to get the photo. Oh, yes those are acorns that you found. We went scouting for some last weekend and there were lots to pick from after the rain that we had.

have a great evening!

Linda,
I can't tell a girl from a boy hummingbird. I am impressed. So, one has more subtle coloring?
I love hummingbirds, they love my flowers especially my morning glories and Hollyhocks.

Love your quote, it's so true.
