~ A Little Mystery ~

I have a thing for birds nests and have a small collection of them. These little creations are so amazing, I can only imagine how long it takes a little bird to create her home. Look a this sweet nest someone left on the swing on my front porch....it's made with twigs and mud and the way it's assembled is amazing. Most all my nests are made with twigs and have interesting bits and pieces tucked in them....string, fabric, paper shredds and even fishing line. Any way, getting back to this nest, I've ask my neighbors , but none of them left it on the swing...I wish I knew who left this for me I'd love to tell them thank you and how much I appreciate there thoughtfulness. Oh, not to worry I only pick up nests on the ground and I've had a few come to me when trees were pruned....I know a bird will sometimes come back to a nest..... and use it again and if the mystery of the swing nest is ever solved I'll let you know...hugs, Linda

Well this is a mystery Linda! I have another blog friend, Kathy B in Washington State, (Spot on Cedar Pond blog) that collects birds' nests. It's always so interesting to see the different materials in each nest.
Hope you are having a nice weekend.

That is a neat looking nest, do you know what type of bird might have built it? I had one end up on my balcony, it was SO tiny I thinkit may have been a humming birds nest?? I saved it

I wonder who left it for you?

What fun...everyone loves a mystery!!! Also, Linda, I did not know that CA does not have fire flies (lightning bugs). Oh how I wish I could show you the display they put on each evening. They do not get on you they just fly slowly in the air and it is so amazing. Blessings, Dianntha

Hi Linda, I haven't seen you in a while. How are you? I have lots of nests....all picked up off the ground and mostly found by Bobby G. as he cuts the grass. One wish I have is to see a live hummingbird's nest. We have the little birds here, in fact, one buzzed me today as I sat by the pool but I have yet to see one of their teeny tiny little nest. Someone must think a lot of you to leave you that special gift on your swing. Have a great week friend. xo Lynn

Cute post Linda, we used to have some wrens that would build nests in our hanging baskets every summer when we had geraniums. This year we got petunia baskets and I don't think they like them as much..lol Have a great week.

Nests are so amazing to look at up close. I still prefer my soft bed to a perch up in a tree.
