~ Blue Turkey's Found ~

Hi everyone, hope you all had a great weekend. On Saturday Lisa and I went to the movies and saw Morning Glory...cute, cute movie, we both liked it. Plus there was the peddlers faire this past weekend and I did find........ some nice turkey's with blue markings. I love this set, kinda hard to tell from the picture but their back and tail feathers are a very pretty shade of blue and look at this....
little fella. He is very tiny and had the brightest blue head...I'm happy and now my collection is complete. Can you believe Thanksgiving is just 10 day away? Time to order your turkey...hugs, Linda

Gobble~ Gobble~Gobble

You better speak English....no one knows what "gobble, gobble, gobble", means...oops sorry. It's turkey talk...it's just us turkey's...... wishing everyone a great weekend.............
us too, we're new this year.................
me too. Are you from the WX Peddler's Faire? Yes, and I think we are the last..
We're from there too...and we're glad we're here too. Not everyone likes purple turkey's. The WX is this weekend and I bet we have more friends come to live with us. I don't think so. Linda said "the collection is closed", well we'll just have to wait and see. Hey, hey, don't' forget us.....over here, on the side-car.....
We want to say happy weekend to everyone too...."gobble, gobble, gobble."

This picture is....

"The Angelus" by Jean Francois Millet. I think it is wonderful and it's a favorite of mine. My friend Michelle and her sister both have this print....I was the last to find it at an antique faire, and was really happy when I spotted it, can't remember which faire, maybe WX. Anyway, I just love it! The first time I saw it and each time I look at it, it always reminds me of Thanksgiving. I imagine the young couple offering a prayer of thanks for their bountiful harvest, to be enjoyed at a Thanksgiving celebration.

To learn about the artist and the actual story of this picture click on his name....or you can just enjoy mine...hugs, Linda

~ The Turkeys Are Here ~

Today has been the busiest day, yesterday I was gone all day and when I did get home I was just too tired to put all our Halloween decoration away...so I did that this morning. After getting all that tucked away it was time to get the turkeys out. That was a huge... job but I'm happy to say I'm finished decorating for Thanksgiving and that is a wonderful feeling. I bought this blue turkey plate last year and just love it mixed with all my moonstone pieces....next week at the peddlers faire I'm going to be hunting for some blue turkeys...in all my years of collecting gobble gobblers I don't remember ever seeing any. Have you?? After I find them my turkey collection is closed...I never thought I'd say that because I love the little fellas but enough is enough. I'll be sharing pictures in the days to come....have a nice evening...hugs, Linda

~Ready For Halloween~

Happy Friday everyone! Are you ready for the weekend..I am and I'm ready for Halloween too. I've finished decorating and now all we need are the little trick~or~ treaters. On the mantel, in our living room is a small collection of pumpkins...... Some are pottery with little candles and my two favorites are the painted rock pumpkins, one at either end of the mantel....
I bought both of these rock pumpkins in 1991 in a little, little town called Nubieber, Calif. We were on a road trip to Alturas, Calif. where my husband grew up and we were just poking along and stopping at little spots along the way. I think this little rolly~ polly is so cute..he was 75cents..........
And I had to bring his little friend home too. I think this is a girl pumpkin and on the bottom she's marked $1.75. That was a fun trip and these little guys always remind me of good times. This little........
girl is new this year...found her in Lodi at a street faire, love her....
It seems I always show our coffee table. I always have lots of pictures displayed on it and this year just added some fun candles......do they look familiar? Yep, they're last years...just kept them in the refrig and they stay perfect from year to year. Happy days and hugs to you...Linda

~ Tea Time ~

While vacationing in Morro Bay it's tradition for us to have.... tea at a darling little spot in Cambria called The Tea Cozy. The Tea Cozy is an authentic English tea room . It is housed in a quaint little cottage that is over 100 years old and

the cottage is surrounded by the prettiest little gardens. How cute is that little bunny and look at the little tea pots scattered about...

We love this little tea spot and always have.......

The Royal Tea, look at the yummy offerings. I tell you these little sandwiches are so fresh,.. they are delish and the sweets are out of this world. Our tea of choice is always Earl Grey Tea. Hope you enjoyed visiting the The Tea Cozy, we had such a nice time...
until next year........and that will be here before you know it. Have a happy weekend, hugs, Linda

~ Around Town ~

Cambria is a pretty little town north of Morry Bay, lots of darling shops and the sweetest homes. There are lots.......lots and lots of picket fences....

Pretty beds of flowers everywhere......
Quaint little homes with pretty gardens. I think it would be lovely to sit on that little bench and watch the world go by....

A happy red door and even........
a fun windmill for everyone to enjoy. Hope you enjoyed seeing a bit of Cambria, going to our favorite tea spot next. hugs, Linda

~ Vacation This And That ~

We had the best weather while in Morro Bay. We stay in the same motel each year...it over looks Embarcadero Street and the bay and is close to Main Street. Most mornings you'll find us enjoying breakfast on our balcony and watching the street and businesses come to life, plus there is always lots of activity in the bay......Today we are heading to Main Street to poke around in all the little shops and then head back to the wharf for lunch......Main Street is a lovely tree lined street with lots of planters and flower boxes filled with just the prettiest flowers.....
and the sweetest shops and lots of great places to eat. The....

Summer Cottage is my favorite shop. It's filled with vintage littles and lots of neat do~dads....
The window display and entrance are most inviting, you can't help but go in. Another...
must is the book store, this is a favorite spot Lisa loves to visit and me too. It's really very quaint and cozy, you can just lose yourself in here. Well, we each found new reads and it's time to head for lunch and then beaching....next Cambria. Until then, happy days to you...hugs, Linda

~ Thank You ~

Hi everyone.....I'm back. We had a great getaway and I'll be sharing pictures in a few days. Today, I wanted to say a big thank you too two sweet bloggers who had giveways in September and I was the lucky winner.....Dianntha the Ohio Farm Girl, stitcher extraordinaire had a drawing for this darling LK cross stitch chart. Aren't these the cutest stitches? I love them all but I'm hoping to have the little witchie finished for this Halloween. Then I entered another give away Deb, the very talented Garage Sale Gal was having. She was offering this sweet kitty.....
I love kitties and this one is just precious and I won! I hung this sweetie from the key on our grandfather clock....too cute. Now, Deb said she was going to add a few little treats in the box with Miss Kitty and oh my gosh, look at all the goodies she included...

Halloween candy....yum, a fun note pad and pen, kitchen towel and dish cloth, an acorn card Deb created, bingo cards, little pumpkin and kitty plus lots of fun confetti.... how cool!!!
Thank you both for such sweet giveaways. You are both such great blogging friends. I hope you visit Dianntha and Deb...both are very talented and creative, I know you'll enjoy your visit and make new friends too....hugs, Linda

~ I'm Ready For Fall ~

I think fall is finally here...cool, cool mornings and evenings with pleasent afternoons. I love to see the seasons change and I have been so antsy to decorate for fall so I did just that the past few days. This is my sofa table with......... one of my favorite Blackbird designs....Moonlit Garden, I love it!
Our mantel just has a simple garland and candles.....oh, I think there has been a spirit about...that candle wasn't crooked a moment ago...heehee. Here is a sweet little......

stitch from Lisa. It's a JBW Design called "A Very Merry Autumn" how approiate is that. If you click on the picture you can see the stitched sentiment. I stitched this and framed it myself....what do you think of the frame? It cost me a whopping 99cents I found it at the 99cent store. I always have to have a bowl of...........
Hershey kisses, their Fall medley package....love the colors and the candy inside too. A ...
bowl of Fall on the dinning room table...in the center is my first rag ball. It was so fun and simple to make...I've been making lots of these and plan to make some for Christmas too. A bit more Fall in the days to come, until then.....hugs, Linda

Ooooh, I've....

been so good....haven't been to a garage sale in months but on the way home from church I spotted one and had to stop, well not had to but wanted to, and I'm glad I did. Look...what I found.... this sweet apron someone made. It's really more a hostess apron and I love it's festive colors....

cute little pocket for a little hanky or mint.....bound in red seam binding....

with a pretty little bib.....why would someone part with this sweetie? Not to worry, I appreciate the time it took to create....it's come to a good home and I'm going to enjoy it. I also found this pretty lunch box tin,

originally it was filled with cookies. I just thought it was very pretty....

I like that it is a garden scene, there is a blue bird and can't forget the little heart.... I think I'll put some stitching items in it. Now I need to find some things for Goodiewill, my new motto "in with some out with some"....have a happy day and week....hugs, Linda
