I just love this little used book store....it has a huge selection of paper back and hard back books and what is especially nice it is so neat and well organized, plus the owner plays the most lovely classical music.....makes browsing most enjoyable. Right now I'm reading The Shack....I'm nearly finished and I got to looking at my book stash. Oh, my gosh...not many there, only three....I need more. I have a little list of books I'm looking for, so I headed to Crawford's. I didn't find any from my list but I did find these........

~ Flowers And A Pink Vase ~
Yesterday was just a beautiful first day of Spring, and as if right on cue one of my Calla Lillies bloomed...it is just so pretty. I have three more buds ready to open too....plus lots of these
sweeties blooming. Are these Dewdrops...that's what I've always called them. The Dewdrops have been blooming for about a week....I love to cut them and keep fresh little bouquets in the house. Today there is a light rain and I had to rescue my Calla Lilly........
If you look closely I think you may be able to see the rain drops on the leaves. I also cut another small bunch of Dewdrops and put them in.....
this pretty little pink glass, it has the prettiest little flowers etched in it. Carl found it at the flea market today and thought it was a bud vase...it might be a wine flute, but it's going to be my bud vase now.
Enjoy the weekend...hugs, Linda

~ Look What I Found ~
Last week Lisa and I went to the neatest shop. Cost Plus ~ World Market. It's filled with wonderful goods, trinkets and treasures, plus unusual and delicious foods, candies, cookies, jams etc. from around the world... and look what I found. Licorice Altoids! I love licorice and I nearly danced a jig when I saw these.
They taste just like black licorice and have a little bite to them.....love them. I've got to be careful and not eat them like candy, it's tempting. Do you like licorice? I wish you could just reach in and take one, if your are a licorice lover I know you'd like these. Have a great day...hugs, Linda

~ Lunch With The Girls ~
The second Tuesday of each month is always the Johnson girls lunch party get together. We are all friends from high school (Hiram Johnson H.S.)and some of us have known each other since elementary school. It's always a fun day and yesterday was no exception. We met at Chevys for lunch, they serve the most delicious Mexican food.
Here we are waiting for our lunch....this is the neatest group of ladies...starting on the left is Ann, Judy, me, Janice, Marcia, Jeanie, Susan and Sharon. We had lots of catching up to do, it's always fun to hear the latest news and what everyone has been up to. Oh , here's lunch. Look at this delicious combination plate.....

WX Treasures and Stitching Tonight
Today has just flown by for me....it's Monday afternoon and you know that means tonight is our stitching get together, but I do have a few minutes and I wanted to show you a couple of treasures I found at the peddlers fair yesterday. I said I was just going to buy tiny things and I did..... well,I guess I should say little items and just a small bag of goodies at that. I didn't even need my shopping cart....I collect......silhouettes and I just love these. This is the first time I've ever seen silhouettes in blue. Right now I've tucked them in amongst the moonstone......I think they look kind of pretty there.
Look at the sweet little lambs...perfect for Easter. I was going to put them away until next month but changed my mind. Just behind the lambs is a little blue fairy light....you can just barely see it....I'll get a better picture so you can see how pretty it looks with a candle in it.
Yikes, I've got to fly....we're stitching in a hour...hugs, Linda

~ The Weekend ~
Good morning...and it is. The sun is shinning and it is going to be a beautiful day. This is a favorite time of day for me...the house is still quite and all the kitties and Lily have had their breakfast. It really doesn't matter what day it is my little internal alarm clock wakes me up early each morning...but that's okay. After I feed all my little sweeties I grab a cup of coffee, get all comfy and stitch for about an hour and then I love to read and today was no exception.... I just finished Friendship Cake and really enjoyed it. It got off to a slow start but then I got to know the ladies and thought of them as real people. This book has a wonderful message of faith and true friendships...and I'm looking forward to the sequel, Garden of Faith.
Well, I must get busy..Lisa and I have lots of little errands to run and then we are having lunch at the Hof Brau. Tomorrow is the WX Peddlers Faire (already)...I'm going to look for tiny things. Remember to turn your clocks forward tonight...I wonder how my alarm clock will handle that......happy weekend to all...hugs, Linda

~Hi Hi ~
Look at that gray sky.....it's getting darker by the minute and will be raining shortly. For the past week we have had rain every single day, and more is in the forecast. I really haven't been doing much this past week, kinda staying in just puttering, reading, watching some good movies (Netflicks) and stitching. Last night was our SAL and look at these beautiful.......
Calla Lillies Michelle brought me. Aren't they pretty...I love this flower....plus she made the most delish chocolate cake for us. It had a fudge like frosting, and I tell you it was to live for....ooh so good. I have to have the recipe. Believe it or not after catching up on all the latest news we did get a lot accomplished last night....
Bless Our Home is a sweet stitch....this is the first time I've used Crescent Colours thread and they are so nice to stitch with. I think the house color Blue Moon is pretty...actually all the colors are very pretty.
Well, everyone has left, time to turn the lights out until next week. Oh, wait just one quick peek at the charts I bought at The Elegant Stitch.
I'm not sure which one I'll work on first...I'm thinking the one of the little couple. I wonder if I can get that finished by my anniversary? I think I'll give it a try.......hugs, Linda
