~Busy~Busy~Busy~

Hi everyone. Look at my beautiful storage shed...well, I think it looks wonderful...you should have seen it last Tuesday. We decided to have a garage sale this past Saturday. I worked three days organizing, de-cluttering and getting ready for the sale. I'm so happy to get some space to be able to turn around and move seasonal things in and out. Carl..........................
worked on this unit. It has fun things, our bikes camping gear and even has some room left for yard equipment.
I just have these few crates to inventory and then I'm finished. I'll put them in my shed and still have turn around room. What a job, but it feels great to get so much accomplished. Our Saturday sale was fun...we sold lots of treasures, gave some things away and the rest went to Goodwill this morning. I'm so happy to get rid of so much "stuff".

Don't laugh when I tell you on Sunday we went to the second Sunday WX Peddlers Faire. I just bought a few things, really. I love doilies and these were so colorful I couldn't pass them up. This little silhouette reminds me of Thanksgiving....
and I plan to just set it out during November. Lisa......
loves purple and I found these pretties for her. The embroidery work is so lovely and the pillow slip in the front with the little crocheted edge I think is especially nice. Whenever I buy hand worked pieces, I wonder who made them, did they make them for someone special....why are they being sold at a street faire.......all I can tell you I love these pieces and so does my daughter...we think they are treasures to love and enjoy.

Have a happy day...I'll be stopping by....until then...hugs, Linda

Garage sales are a lot of work, but it looks like yours paid off -- what a great feeling to be so organized (I'm imagining, anyway! :)

Looks like you had a good sale, and then found a few good sales, LOL. The doilies are lovely.

It always feels so good when you get something organized. Your little finds at the sale look really nice. You do have to wonder why people sell what they make like it is nothing. Their loss is your gain though.
Have a good day.

I hear yard sales are work, but it's great to know you were able to get so much cleaned out, sold and given away. Yahoo!
The new treasures you found are beautiful. Enjoy them.

I'm on the same path - I'm trying to clear some things out too. I really should be having a garage sale. I laughed when you said you went to the faire. Doilies don't take up much room and they are so lovely! Whoever took the time to create them would be so happy they are being enjoyed by you guys.

Good for you! I need to have a garage sale too. You wouldn't believe how much linen I have. When I cleaned my garage where I was storing it in chests and boxes I was shocked at the quantity. The very best is in hat boxes in the house. I may have a linen buying obsession/addiction. LOL

Is that a miniature cookstove on top of those crates.
I never have a yard sale anymore. I just find a charity or friend to give things to. The mid south seminary students are treated to a yard sale every year. They get to choose household items to furnish their apartments while they are here in school. I have already called to schedule a pick up of items I am not moving.
Your shed looks so organized. I store my Christmas and other hoiday decor in the bonus room. I have no idea where I'll put it when we move.

I went thru a cleaning frenzy this past winter...hated doing the job but it felt sooooo good when I finished. Wish I could have come to your yard sale. They are a lot of work aren't they? I have a shed too. We don't have attic space in this house so my shed is full of mostly Christmas stuff. I wanted to make it into a cute little guest room but DH poo pooed that idea. :)

How wonderful to get your storage space all cleaned out! I need to work on that so badly. You can't turn around in either the garage or the attic. (most of the stuff in the garage belongs to my kids!) It is just too hot to work on it right now but I'm hoping to get to it and maybe have a garage sale in October - before the quilt show so I'll have some spending money! LOL

Linda I feel the same way you do when buying handmade pieces or even old china. I always wonder who owned it and what was their life like. Have a wonderful weekend, blessings, kathleen
