What Happened To My Squirrel Tree?

Yippee! I'm going to the park. I love going to the park....I just run in circles and play with the squirrels. My mom calls my running zooming, and the squirrels really don't play they just scamper up their squirrel tree and hide. Today is going to be great fun...I haven't been to the park for three days because of the horrible stormy weather we've been having...I can hardly wait to get there.
Oh no! What has happened? I don't like what I'm seeing.
Look what has happened to my beautiful squirrel tree.
I guess all the rain and strong winds were just too much for this wonderful old tree. My mom told me she has lived in this neighborhood since she was a teenager and she said this tree along with several other trees in the park are over 50 years old. I think we were pretty lucky that only one tree fell, there are lots of branches and limbs on the ground and the ground is very mushy. I know work crews will be out tomorrow to clean this all up and get things back to normal.
I'm sad...not only is my squirrel tree gone, but I don't see any of my little friends. I hope they are alright and found another nice tree in the park to live in.
That' my dad....don't fall in that giant hole. I have to keep an eye on my parents ~ I sure don't want anything to happen to them. Doesn't he look tiny next to the tree?

Well, I think I'll do a quick zoom...maybe I'll see my friends and then I'm heading for home. I'll be back tomorrow... to see how things are doing and I'll let you know when I see my friends. Lily

Good Evening Linda,
I'm glad that it was just the tree that fell on the ground. "PRAISE GOD" it didn't fall on your or anyone's house. I have been seeing about all the bad weather yall were having. It has been a warm and windy day here. It did make it up to 70 degrees once today. I have even turned my A/C on. LOL. For the last couple of weeks I have been freezing. Today I was burning up. I guess I'm having a Power Surge. LOL. I hate going to Wal-Mart's anymore. Take care my friend and have a great evening. May God Bless You and Yours.

Hugs,
Karen H.

Hi Linda (and Lily),
So glad that tree didn't fall on anyone, but poor tree. We've got a huge pine tree in the front of our house & I've worried about it during the storms.

Lily, I'll bet all your squirrel friends are okay, just think how they just jump onto the big electrical poles, etc. Bet you see them soon!

Cute blog, I'm going to read about the heart rocks next...

Poor Lily! I'm sure you will find another squirrel tree. Those squirrels have got to go somewhere!

It's always sad when old trees go down. Here we have beautiful ancient live oaks--unfortunately none at my house though! After living in a treeless dessert for many years, I really love living someplace green with trees.

BTW, thanks for stopping by my blog!

Lily, I hope all your little squirrel friends are safe and have found nice trees to stay in. I'm sure your Mom and Dad will find a park with more trees and squirrels so you can do some serious zooming.

Oh my, that was a big tree that came down. I am a tree hugger and it always makes me sad to see that kind of damage. Another will sprout up to take it's place I am sure. That is the magic of the circle of life :-)

Hi Linda, Hope you and yours are staying safe. It took me a minute to realize your pup was writing that post and then I laughed. So cute!

Oh, my...I always hate to see a pretty tree downed like this one.
We haven't had rain out here in West Texas for awhile and sure could use some.
Take care!

Oh, ya know, when I was little, we always had pretend tea..then when my daughter came along, we started with the Real Thing. Now, the granddaughters love it, too. We go to a tea room here in town about every 4 or 5 months and, oh, the smaller one that's 5, sure likes that!!

Ooh- we hate to see a beautiful old tree fall like that. We know a few carpenters who love to take away fallen trees, and season the wood for their future projects. Love that- a sense that the tree lives on through the craftsman's hands! Have a safe and wonderful day!

blessings,
kari & kijsa

Hello...I followed a link from Karen H's blog. I enjoyed reading through some of your entries and will definately try the Ribbon Sandwich recipe when I have a tea one day for my friends.

We've had a lot of rain here in Ohio today. I hope the tree's hold up in this squishy ground!

Just let me know if you would like to visit me (send me an email) and I'll send you an invite to my blog.

Hi, Linda. I was visiting Susan at Farmgirl Fare today, and she has posted about her heart stones. Thought you might want to take a look at them. Her address is foodiefarmgirl.blogspot.com, if you are interested, or you can just follow her link on my sidebar.

Hi Linda,
Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment on my blog. I just love meeting other bloggers.
AWE !!!! Poor Lily lost her squirrel tree. It's sad to see a big old tree go down like that. We have many very old trees around our home and with them come lots od squirrels. Our dog Heidi spends hours waiting for the squirrels to come into the yard so that she can chase them back out.
P.S. Love your heart stones.
