~ Weekend News ~

Hi everyone, hope you are having a nice weekend. Today we've spent most of the day watching sports but let me tell you what I did yesterday. Lisa and I went to a sewing and craft festival, it was so much fun...there was so much to see and do. Lots and lots of quilting and sewing booths and lots of little workshops you could sign up for. Lisa and I both took a punch needle class..... This was our project...a small basket of flowers. After learning how to mount the fabric on the form and thread the needle....which for me was kind of tricky, we punch needled the flowers and greenery and then added the basket charm and ribbon. I love this little project...and I think I see a new hobby in my future:). I also made this....
little needle keep. This is a little heart shaped yo~yo, for my first one I'm happy with it but I'm going to stick with the traditional round yo~yo. I bought a little yo~yo maker and for my first project plan to make a little table runner. Have a nice evening, hugs, Linda

Hi Linda, I love the punch needle basket of flowers. I have a watch on a necklace that is "covered" with a little silver basket of flowers that looks just like this!
Again, my Australian blog friend is going to love this post too! I remember my mom's best friend making yo-yo pillows back in the 60's. Can't wait to see your future projects. Have a good week.

Hello Linda, thanks for stopping by today and your kind words.
I tried the yo-yo thing once and decided it wasn't for me..I like the other project but it sounds hard..I bet the best thing about your day was spending it with Lisa.
Blessings,
Mama Bear

Linda, I want to thank you for your kind comment on my blog.

John will have to undergo a CT guided needle biopsy for a tumor on his salivary gland on Thurs. Apr. 8. We would appreciate your prayers very much.

Have a nice weekend.

I bought and did the punch needle too. I did a few things and put it aside again. Knitting keeps taking over for me. I do have cross stitch projects to do, one started, but off I go on two knitting items. A fisherman knit sweater, and a baby sweater.
Have fun.
