~ Lunch and "Sweet" Stitching ~

Yesterday was a fun day. Lunched at Mimi's with high school friends, yummy food and neat ladies...perfect . There's always lots of fun chatter and we talked about our up-coming class reunion . It will be our 50th....I know, we can't believe it either...how quickly time passes. Then last evening it was SAL night. Look at the "sweet" piece we're stitching. "Chocolate Box" by LHN.... we all thought it's a perfect stitch for Valentine's Day......it is, but while you are stitching, it sure makes you want a nice piece of candy. Hugs Linda

~ Valentine Tree ~

The past few days I put out a few things for Valentine's Day which
is just around the corner. This is a little red tree I tucked.....
some vintage Valentine's Day cards in among the branches.

If you click on the pictures you can see how sweet the images are. I tried to pick my favorite card but I like them all. Do you see a favorite?
I just wrapped a large doily around the base and added a couple of hearts and Teddy. I found the little quilted heart in an antique shop in Texas this past summer and knew I would find a place for it. Have a happy weekend. Warm hugs, Linda

~ January TUSAL ~

Oh my gosh. Have you ever remembered you wanted to do something and then totally forgot to do it? That was what I did. Yesterday there was a new moon and time to share our ort jar for TU SAL (Totally Useles Stitch A Long.) I'm just a tad bit late but here is my little jar...it's amazing how many little bits........ of thread it will hold, especially when I keep mooshing all the little bits down. I've been stitching little projects.........

and this is my latest little finish. "America The Beautiful" by Pine mountain. I bought this kit this past summer. On our trip home from Texas we traveled to Tulsa Oklahoma especially so I could visit the Silver Needle. This is a wonderful shop......

and I had the best time. I found so many wonderful charts and lots of goodies...I filled my basket up twice...

Not only is this shop pure paradise for a stitcher but all the ladies are so knowledgeable and most helpful....I had a wonderful time here and maybe someday I'll get another chance to visit the "Silver Needle". Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend...it's raining here, I'm having a cozy day watching the games and stitching but now it's time for a movie and popcorn....hugs, Linda

~ Thank You ~

Recently, Betty at She's Sew Pretty celebrated her 500th post with a darling give away and I was the lucky winner. Look at the..... darling gifts I received. I love the Christmas stocking, isn't the mushroom fabric the cutest and it's trimmed with red rick rack and touches of vintage pink velvet. There's yummy ribbon Valentine candy and a darling a cupcake candle with a little heart on top. Look at the JOY ornies...I have a heart tree I've put out for February and I'm putting them on it, plus Betty included M.E. coasters...thank you so much for all the goodies. If you've never visited Betty, I hope you stop by and say hi. She is such a creative lady and has a lovely blog. I also received this Sunshine award from Mama Bear....another blog I love to visit.

I'm doing something a bit different and passing this sweet award to all of you. You all brighten my day and I enjoy each of you...so please take this button and enjoy...hugs, Linda

~ Just Finished ~

I love this little sweetie I just finished stitching and putting together. It's a design from The Sampler Girl. At one time...... I think it was a free chart. Now you can find it and other darling charts in ,The Sampler Girl Companion, Christmas Booklet 1. I also stitched this for Lisa in variegated blue, but I still need to put it together.

Well, time for dinner...I hope everyone is having a happy weekend....hugs, Linda

~ Winter Time ~

I'm so happy to have Christmas tucked away...what a job. Why is it each year it seems to take me longer to get all the decorations away? I'm thinking I put too much stuff out.

I love this little pillow...I know we'll never get snow here, just lots of fog, which I adore. I know lots of people are not happy with the gray days but I look forward to this time of year. To everyone experiencing the piercing cold, snow and ice, keep warm and cozy...I hope you do not have to be out and about...hugs, Linda
