~ Yippee ~
Yippee! The living room is nearly finished...today we are painting the fireplace wall, book shelves and mantel. Today may not be the best day to paint, it's raining ... but we want to be finished. We've had tons of rain the past few weeks but what is nice with all the rain signs of Spring are everywhere.

~ Today is Washington's birthday ~
Today is George Washington's birthday and I found this wonderful old post card honoring the first president of the United States, the Father of our country, at the Peddlers Fair last weekend. I love old post cards and this one is so pretty and in great condition for...
being over 100 years old. Check the cancellation mark stamped 1909. If only this little card could talk....I wonder if it's been tucked away in an old box or maybe in a scrapbook. I also baked a cherry cobbler last night to celebrate his day.
Mmmm, right out of the oven. This is simple, simple to make.... pour 1 large can of pie filling in a 8x8 un-greased pan, usually at this point I make a crumble or a Bisquick topping for the top, but yesterday I did something different. This is a sugar cookie topping. I used Pillsbury sugar cookie dough, in a role. Slice 9, -1/2 inch slices from the roll (save the remainder to make cookies). Place the sliced pieces evenly on the filling. Sprinkle with brown sugar, butter pieces, chopped walnuts and a tad of cinnamon.....I'm pretty generous with the sugar, walnuts and butter but you can adjust this to you liking. Bake in a pre- heated 350 oven for 10 to 12 minutes....then enjoy.
Painting is nearly finished....looking good too and things are being put back in place. Thank you for all the nice comments...they all made me smile and I always love your visits. Have a happy day....I've got to run, I hear a paint brush calling me....hugs, Linda

~ Our Little Disaster Zone ~
We're getting ready to paint our dinning room and living room. Look at all the stuff you need for this project. Brushes, rollers, pans, rags, tape, patching materials and on and on and on.
The prepping was a big job. Everything had to come off the walls and I emptied one hutch, the desk, a small cabinet and undressed my heart tree. I washed all the plates from the walls and the hutch dishes plus woodwork. Carl had a ton of patching and smoothing to do. He stopped counting the holes at 60, but there were lots more. I guess you can tell I like to hang stuff on the walls.
Lots of dishes were packed in crates and others we just put on the table and this hutch. When we are ready to do this wall most of these thing will have been put away.
This just looks like a disaster zone...all the furniture is pushed to the center of the living room so we could paint this one wall. Can you see our new color? It's Sage and I love it...we will have two accent walls and the other walls will be a pretty Ivory tone. Tomorrow is our stitching night but we're skipping getting together...
Well, every bone in my body hurts, I've had a nice hot shower and I'm ready to say night, night. Tomorrow will be here before I know it...sleep tight. hugs, Linda

~ Sweet Little Sheep ~
I think this little sheep napkin holder is so sweet. Patty at Attic Clutter, recently had a fun give-away for this little fellow.... and I was the lucky winner. As soon as I unpacked it yesterday, I put Valentine napkins in it... I love it. Thank you Patty...when I look at it I will be reminded of you, sweet blogging friend. Stop by and say hi to Patty....she is a gifted artist, always creating, lots of fun ideas, just a lovely blog. You will enjoy your visit...hugs, Linda
