~Touches Of Fall~

Oh my goodness...I think I spoke too soon. Summer is back! Today the temperature is to be in the 90's...but that's fine, I know the cool days will be soon return and until then I'll enjoy my little touches of Fall. I love this crystal bowl...it was my Granma's and a favorite treasure of mine. It's on our dinning room table filled with mini pumpkins and gourds. At Christmas you'll see it filled with holiday ornaments.
This golden acorn is sitting in a moonstone basket on the side-car....I think it's so neat. The doily is a flea market find. I'm always looking for hand crocheted doilies with a touch of color.....I love the fact someone made them (I always wonder why are these sweet pieces are being sold at flea markets) and I enjoy using them as seasonal accents.
Love all the mini pumpkins...too cute. Actually they are Putka Pods....I had never seen these before. They are the fruits of a tropical tree found in India. I found the pods and acorn at The Feathered Nest in Cambria.
A small bouquet of sweet smelling roses. This is the rose called Secret...my favorite...it is so fragrant....I try to always have some in the house. I especially like having a small vase full on my nightstand.

Look who I'm going to see tonight. Neil Diamond! He's preforming here tonight.

I've always loved his music and I am so looking forward to the concert.

Wishing you all a happy evening and a great weekend.....hugs, Linda

~~A Bit Of This And That~~

Hi, Hi....hope you all had a nice day. Each morning I love to enjoy my coffee sitting on the patio and watch the hummers that visit our feeder. They just fascinate me, I have more fun snapping pictures of them. I took these this morning. I thought catching their shadow was so cool......
Oh, one more thing. Last night was our stitch night. We are right on track and will finish the first part of October.......just in time to frame our piece and have it ready for Halloween. This is my first Blackbird Design and I can hardly wait to see it finished and in the prefect frame. I hope to finish my Home Sweet Home stitchie at about the same time. I'll share that piece soon. Have a great day tomorrow..hugs, Linda

Hi everyone! I've been tagged by Andi, at Andi's Everyday Adventure, to answer the following five questions....so here we go

1~~ Where was I ten years ago? That's easy...I was living in this very house, in sunny California with my honey

2~~ What was on my To Do list today? Well, first get my hair done....then pick up an RX, go to Michael's looking for yarn, give myself a manicure and pedicure, stitch and watch a movie in the evening .

3~~ What would I do If I were a billionaire? I would first make sure Lisa's future was secure. Invest in real estate. Establish and maintain a shelter for homeless animals. Create and fund a foundation to aid and assist the elderly. My hubby would have an endless amount of flea market fun money. Have a family reunion each year...visiting someplace new each time.....I think that's about it.

4~~ Five places I have lived: I'm a native Californian and lived in the same town all my life.

5~~ Bad habits: Love to go barefooted...drives Carl crazy, forever leaving cupboard doors open, eating too many sweets, forgetting to turn lights off...but I'm working on all these.

Now to complete my "Tag Meme" I'm to tag 5 others...I'm tagging Diane, Lib, Michelle, Rachael and Kathleen.....hope you play along.

Thank you Joy for this sweet award...I'm honored to receive it. Joy has a lovely blog, stop by and say hi...I know you'll enjoy your visit. I'd like to pass this award on to all my blogging friends. You all are the nicest......

and I truly love each and every blog I visit....

~~Off To Cambria~~

Today we are visiting Cambria, a little town 20 miles north of Morro Bay. Cambria is a short drive inland from Highway 101. No fog here, a bright and sunny day. We visited a couple little antique shops and then headed to one of our favorite places for tea, The Tea Cozy. This tea room is housed in the sweetest little 100 year old cottage. Not only do they serve traditional teas and light lunches, they also have a nice selection of English groceries.....teas, cookies, candies, jams and sauces. We are having the Royal Tea today. There are over twenty tea selections but we are having a standard... Earl Grey.
Add a touch of cream and a lump of sugar......so good. I've always adored Blue Willow China. I must be a romantic because I love the sweet myth depicted on the plate~~~that of the star crossed lovers who were turned into immortal love birds......reminds me of something from Shakespeare.
This is the Royal Tea...a selection of sweets and savories. Lisa and I have a little ritual, we takes turns choosing what sandwich or scone to eat.....the sweets we save for last.
One last little cup of tea and then a little shopping. This was a favorite little shop......The Feathered Nest........
Love the window display. The nest has wonderful little antiques, pretty Fall items and fun Halloween goodies. We found a couple of little treasures I'll share another time.

Time to head back to the Inn. On our way we're stopping at the Cotton Ball. This is a wonderful quilt and knitting shop. We brought our knitting needles and hope to find some pretty yarn for scarfs......hope you enjoyed the day....hugs, Linda

~~Main Street~Morro Bay~~

Morro Bay is a sweet little town with a population of a little over 10,000. It has lots of neat shops and restaurants. Today we are shopping, but first we are..... having breakfast at the best little place, "The Kitty Kat Cafe".
Oh my, would you look at this Mexican Omelet. Yikes, this is enough for a family of three.....
Lisa is having the Chicken Fried Steak breakfast...heavens, who can eat this much. I must tell you both our breakfasts were delicious, ate what we could and did not have one bite of anything until dinner.
This is a view of some of the shops on Main Street. The Summer Cottage is a favorite with lots of little treasures. There is a wonderful bead store and the book store is very old world, with a lovely garden and patio you enter through their back door. Across the street are a couple of thrift stores~well actually one is a consignment store, a cute coffee shop and other neat little boutiques. We had a great time visiting them all.
I tell you , after that huge breakfast and shopping, it sure felt good to just sit for a short time. Around 2pm we headed back to the Blue Sail to relax and a few rounds of Clue....fun, fun, fun.

To be continued......have a happy weekend. Hugs, Linda

~~Our Trip~~

Hi everyone....we're back and we had the best time. Do you see what I see? I spy the ocean! This is our first view of the coast and ocean...it is an awesome sight. The day is very foggy and the surf is just roaring in and out.....beautiful. I love the coast and to me this is a little bit of heaven on earth. Morro Bay it just down the road and we are heading to our favorite motel......the
Blue Sail Inn. Each room has a balcony facing the bay with a great view of the embarcadero. Most mornings we enjoyed breakfast out on the balcony and it's also fun to just sit and people watch.
Look at that sky...the sun is trying to pop out, but not having much luck. If you look closely you can just barely make out Morro Rock...
More shops and look at the fog. I love fog so I'm happy!! We are settled in our room and we're going to walk over to the wharf for lunch......
yummy fish and chips. Oh, these are so good, just delish.....our first day in Morro Bay we always have the same lunch, it's tradition. After lunch we are just going to poke around........more of our trip tomorrow. Hugs, Linda

~~ My Fun Bag ~~

Look at this cool bag I bought at The Barn. It's huge and I love it. The day after my birthday we did take a road trip to The Barn in Escalson. It's the neatest place...antiques, little treasures and the best fresh produce. We had a great time and plan to go back next month for fall goodies. I know.... the bag is huge and just perfect to load with fun things for a road trip Lisa and I are taking soon.
Let's see, my stitchies things, the new issue of Victoria and a lovely new journal Lisa gave me for our trip. Have you any idea where we are going? No.... There is a little hint on the cover of the journal. Okay, I've got all my toys packed, ooops can't forget.............
my new version of Clue. This is my all time favorite board game...I've been playing it since I was 11 years old and I still love it. I know it says for ages 9 years and older...can't help it, I still love it.

Well, I must get busy.......lots to do. Hugs, Linda
