~ Our Little Disaster Zone ~

We're getting ready to paint our dinning room and living room. Look at all the stuff you need for this project. Brushes, rollers, pans, rags, tape, patching materials and on and on and on.

The prepping was a big job. Everything had to come off the walls and I emptied one hutch, the desk, a small cabinet and undressed my heart tree. I washed all the plates from the walls and the hutch dishes plus woodwork. Carl had a ton of patching and smoothing to do. He stopped counting the holes at 60, but there were lots more. I guess you can tell I like to hang stuff on the walls.

Lots of dishes were packed in crates and others we just put on the table and this hutch. When we are ready to do this wall most of these thing will have been put away.

This just looks like a disaster zone...all the furniture is pushed to the center of the living room so we could paint this one wall. Can you see our new color? It's Sage and I love it...we will have two accent walls and the other walls will be a pretty Ivory tone. Tomorrow is our stitching night but we're skipping getting together...

There's no where to sit......maybe we should have a painting party, I like that idea....

Well, every bone in my body hurts, I've had a nice hot shower and I'm ready to say night, night. Tomorrow will be here before I know it...sleep tight. hugs, Linda

That is going to be lovely. I sympathize with your sore muscles - painting always gives me a stiff neck and sore hands. It will all be worth it - can't wait to see the finished rooms.

That does look awful, lol. I am going to have to go through this soon with my house which has not seen paint for about 17 years and am not looking forward to it. BTW, have you heard of the 3M Command picture hanging strips? I just discovered them and think they are fantastic. No more holes!

P.S. Eat chocolate while you paint.. it helps.

Just keep your eye on the prize... it'll be worth all the hassle in the end! I hate the prep part, taking everything down, cleaning, sorting, etc.--but the color is soooo pretty and will be nice and soothing. I'm looking forward to the 'after' pics! :)

Prep work is the hardest. Daughter loves to paint and I don't mind being her helper when she wants to do it but I let her tape everything.
Major project you're taking on here but I know it will look great when you're finished.
