~ Lisa's Bazaar Birthday ~

Oh, my goodness. Yesterday was Lisa's birthday and I didn't share it. But I tell you it was a bazaar day. We had plans for a special birthday dinner celebration, fixing all her favorites but that has been postponed to this coming weekend and let me tell you why.

Sunday evening she got the worst toothache...it would come and go. She took Tylenol and used some stuff you put on your gum and that helped a bit. Monday she called her dentist bright and early....office closed, Tuesday she called. By this time she was better but guess where she spent her birthday? Yup, the dentist and she had a root canal. So her dinner was a bowl of tomato soup and a tiny piece of her Fruit Basket cake. Happy Birthday honey...we love you very much. So sorry about your special day, but we'll have a nice celebration on Saturday...hugs, kisses and all our love.....Mama and Papa

~ My Weekend ~

Saturday and Sunday were both lovely sunny days with temps in the 80s. Saturday I just puttered the day away and Sunday I went to Colorado...well actually I spent nearly all day on the patio.... reading a wonderful new book, Prayers For Sale, set in Colorado. It's by a favorite author of mine...Sandra Dallas. The story takes place in 1936, during the Great Depression and tells the wonderful story of friendship between two women, Hennie and Nit. For me this is a can't put down book and I don't want to see it end book. I know others might not feel this way about PFS or any of Sandra Dallas's books but that's how I respond to her stories. Besides reading...
I also stitched a little on Kindrid Sprits....this was one of our stitch alongs but I put it aside last September when I went on vacation and this is the first time I've picked it up since then....me thinks I'm very naughty. I need to finish kitty, do the border and a pin wheel and then frame it which I'm going to give a try. Hope you all had a fun weekend, see you soon...hugs, Linda

Tomatoes anyone? I just love these little yummy tomato pin cushions... the older and more squishy the better. Jenn, my niece, in Texas, just sent me the two in front filled with pins, one even has some sewing needles stuck in it. Thank you and big hugs too. Love these little matoes....just do. Hope to pick some this weekend at the WX Peddlers Faire. Do you have weekend plans? Whatever the weekend holds for you enjoy...toodles, Linda

~ Easter Dessert ~

Happy Monday...thank you for all the sweet Easter wishes, yesterday was lovely and I wanted to share our delicious Easter dessert with you. This is a most yummy..... Strawberry Pie... too delish. When we were visiting our family in Texas this past summer, Candi (our niece) served this and it is heaven. To me the filling is like a fluffy cheesecake and what's not to love about that. Next time I make this I'm going to make a graham cracker crust...I think that would be good too. The recipe is below...just click on the picture to enlarge.

If you make this , enjoy...we did. Oh, one more thing, can you guess what I had for breakfast........just kidding, but I wanted to. hugs, Linda
